Hello Dollies : Christmas in July

28 July 2012 - Dreaming of a White Christmas? No it wasn't white, but it was a wintry day at Hello Dollies to celebrate our Christmas in July. In the spirit of the 'white theme" we had a white or Christmas "show and tell" and swapped Christmas gifts with a "white" theme. Here are some happy scenes from the "white Christmas in July" meeting.

After morning tea (special US-style pumpkin pies and apple pies cooked by Bobbi,  Christmas turkey and cranberry sandwiches - Jim's contribution - and my sad Santa strawberries ,  which had an accident in transit), we each made a fabric Christmas bird decoration - using various textile colouring methods : Inktense pencils, pastels, markers, crayons and paint.

And the shoes were distributed for the "Whose Shoes ? " Doll Challenge - due in December. If you missed out, don't despair- there were a few pairs left and it's not too late to join the challenge. Just contact me.
Hope to see you at the August meeting - 25 August when Gloria will be talking about some of her special dolls from her collection.
Thanks for your patience last Saturday as I was still learning the "ropes" - yes we all miss Fay.
best wishes,
Wilma
PS the crocheted  and knitted blanket in the photo above was made by two of our Dollies members and their friends for "Wraps with Love" - well done.
