All About Faces

April Hello Dollies was all about faces... I chose this illustration for the blog this month because  I am often told that my doll faces are Asian - this one looks llke my grandaughter!  We had a really great discussion about  our feelings about doll faces? various techniques used to make, draw, sculpt faces for our dolls?  whether the head , face, and hair are done first or last? what kind of fabric is preferred for needle sculpting? Thank you all for sharing your ideas, inspiration. knowledge and skills.
SHOW and TELL was spectacular as usual - beautiful feminine dolls, creatures great and small, woollen frills and swirls, felt and fabric creations .. we had it all, with a special visit from a delightful young doll maker who had a fantstic doll she made with her grandmother.

And we had a wonderful Easter themed gift swap  - lots of happy surprises!

Hope you all had a very happy and blessed Easter.
We will have a very different and exciting meeting on 28 May - some life drawing basics to help with deciding on doll body proportions.
