Joyous July Challenge Dolls.

It was an absolute joy to see the July Challenge dolls displayed at Hello Dollies, Sydney meeting . The challenge was to make a pattern we had in our stash for some time. I am sure you all know what we mean - the pattern we have been "meaning to make" for ages. The fabulous dragon from the Melinda Small Patterson pattern was declared the winner, but we were all winners - we all made a pattern which had been lurking in our pattern boxes! Congratulations Fay - we all admired the beautiful work in this dragon and can believe the number of hours in this creation.
Can you recognise the patterns we used?

There was also some amazing "show and tell " dolls - well done to those Dolly members who not only achieved their challenge but also made these fantastic dolls during the last month.

If that wasn't enough excitement, this was the Christmas in July meeting, too. Some of the Newcastle Dollies also travelled down by train to attend the "party" and to exchange gifts - red and green.

Thanks to all the Sydney Dollies for hosting such a great meeting, with a beautifully presented feast of wonderful food. Very special thanks for your generosity in donating such a substantial amount to the Mando "Health and Education" Project in Papua New Guinea to purchase sewing machines, fabric and threads for the women in my village. I am returning very soon to do some more work in Papua New Guinea and am looking forward to setting up such a positive project for women. Thanks for making a difference to so many lives.
