Hello Dollies Goes Crazy in February

Our January meetings were lively and educational. Many thanks to Vicki who demonstrated how to make leather flower embellishments for dolls costuming or jewellery. Many of us 'had a go' and were impressed we could make flowers in minutes. Of course, it was easy when Vicki was standing by to help. I came home and wrote some notes for myself not only about shaping the leather but also about colouring leather. Vicki has kindly shared her contacts for felt and leather suppliers and they are published in your February newsletter. I am sure many of the Dollies members will use these techniques on future dolls.
We also had a great "show and tell" because many have been creating over the holiday break - some photos from Newcastle are here. Welcome to " new" members - Kathleen and Cam in Newcastle and Joan in Sydney - hope to see you at many more meetings.

How are your 'Mrs Chalumeau" dolls progressing? Regrettably mine is going very slowly - I wish I didn't leave things to the last minute ... The Hello Dollies Goes Crazy Exhibition will be at the Craft and Quilt Fair, 20-22 February . Hope you all have that in your diaries. If you can help please give your completed roster forms to Fay as soon as possible. All dolls will need to be at Anne's Glory Box by 18 February, clearly labelled and in cloth bags or boxes, also clearly labelled. We would also love to see you at the exhibition - it's a wonderful opportunity to see the beautiful work of the embllishing groups as well. Looking forward to catching up with many of you at the exhibition.

best wishes from Wilma

The flowers look really good. Does anyone sell them? Would make a nice gift...
